Determining Constant Optical Flow

چکیده

The original optical flow algorithm [1] dealt with a flow field that could vary from place to place in the image, as would typically occur when a camera is moved through a three-dimensional environment—or if objects moved in front of a fixed camera. A related, but simpler problem, is that of recovering the motion of an image, all parts of which move with the same velocity (section 4.3 in [2]). The solution of this problem enables “optical mice,” as well as motion compensation in hand-held video cameras—critical to their operation. We provide here background onmoving images, amethod for the estimation of image velocity using least squares applied to brightness derivatives, and an analysis of the sensitivity of the estimated image velocity to noise in brightness measurement.

Microwave assisted digestion coupled with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry for determining element concentrations in halophytes

Introduction: This study was carried out to determine elements (Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Ba, B, Al, Si, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Se, Ag and P) in the Suaeda vermiculata (S. vermiculata) and Suaeda aegyptiaca (S. aegyptiaca) in three different regions of Southern Iran using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) after microwave-assisted acid digestion. Materials and ...

Robot Motion Vision Part II: Implementation

The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...

Pursuit and Evasion: Evolutionary Dynamics and Collective Motion

Pursuit and evasion strategies are used in both biological and engineered settings; common examples include predator-prey interactions among animals, dogfighting aircraft, car chases, and missile pursuit with target evasion. In this paper, we consider an evolutionary game between three strategies of pursuit (classical, constant bearing, motion camouflage) and three strategies of evasion (classi...

A spectral optical flow method for determining velocities from digital imagery

We present a method for determining surface flows from solar images based upon optical flow techniques. We apply the method to sets of images obtained by a variety of solar imagers to assess its performance. The opflow3d procedure is shown to extract accurate velocity estimates when provided perfect test data and quickly generates results consistent with completely distinct methods when applied...

Double-layer Optical Fiber Coating Analysis by Withdrawal from a Bath of Oldroyd 8-constant Fluid

In the present work we explore an approximate solution of the Navier-Stokes equations for optical fiber coating in a pressure type die by withdrawal from a bath of two immiscible Oldroyd 8-conatant fluid under constant pressure gradient in the axial direction using two-layer coating flow. The constitutive equation of motion has been solved by using optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM) for ...
